Entry requirements
Hold a higher education qualification from a recognized institution.
Be a native English speaker or have passed an English language proficiency exam – upon applying present valid document/exam certificate (see public notice).
Have been accepted by an accredited course Supervisor*. * Applications will only be approved with proof of acceptance from the Supervisor, by sending the letter of consent (annex III), or the e-mail address of the Program accredited Supervisor to: ppgbio@unifap.br, with a copy to: coord.ppgbio@unifap.br, within the application period stated in item 5.1 of this public notice.
Before applying, the candidate must ensure that they fulfill all the requirements set forth in this public notice; the candidate is entirely responsible for any hindrance to their application process caused by a lack of attention to these requirements.
The candidate must fill out the application form, available at: http://www.unifap.br/depsec and pay the application fee by the deadline.
To complete the application, the candidate must have a valid Individual Taxpayer’s ID (CPF), for Brazilian applicants, or passport number, for foreigners who do not have a CPF.
When completing the application form (annex II), the candidate must indicate the city where he/she will take the exam.
Candidates who wish to take the exam outside of Macapá – AP must find the Postgraduate, stricto senso, degree unit accredited by CAPES. Candidates residing outside Brazil, must find a higher education/research institution, and ask those responsible to contact the Coordinator at the Federal University of Amapá, Dean of Research and Postgraduate Program in Tropical Biodiversity, PPGBIO Master’s and Doctorate, of UNIFAP / EMBRAPA-AP / IEPA / CI BRASIL, in order to apply for the written general knowledge exam, in the desired place/city. The request must be made to PPGBIO by the application deadline. UNIFAP will not be responsible for delays in the request and/or running of exams due to third parties, which might affect and/or disqualify the candidates; it is the responsibility of the soliciting party to carry out the request and implementation of the exam in a timely manner, following the explicit rules in this public notice.
When filling out the application form, the candidate must indicate the supervisor to whom he/she will apply, according to the supervisors available in annex I of this public notice.
When completing the application form, the candidate is obliged to state if he/she has an English Language exam certificate from a postgraduate program, or has passed the English Language Proficiency Examination for foreigners (ELPE), or if he/she is a native English speaker. The application fee is R$ 100.00 (one hundred reais), to be paid via bank slip generated in the online application process, by the due date. Applications will only be confirmed upon confirmation of payment, which must be made by MAY 3, 2017.
Applications from candidates whose payments have not been confirmed by a financial institution will not be approved. UNIFAP is not responsible for delays due to banking activities and working hours – it is up to the candidate to ensure that there is sufficient time to confirm payment of the application fee.
